Re-interpretation of modern Chinese architectural style is gettingto be a hot topic in China, but many precedent cases were focused in the ‘features’and rather superficial ‘symbols’.

This proposal aims to start with the basic Chinese spatial planning strategy of ‘Jian’and ‘Jin’(間,進). Together with the conceptof ‘Round Sky, Square Land’(天圓地方), the villas try to react with each other and also with the nature in a harmony way,but still keeping a comfortable way ofliving in a traditional Chinese spatial planning.
